Trinity Lutheran is a perfect 3-0 against Christian Academy since May of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cougars will head out to square off against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Trinity Lutheran is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Monday just wasn't the day for Trinity Lutheran's offense. They came up short against Milan on Monday, falling 10-0.
Trinity Lutheran saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marissa Baker, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Christian Academy got the win against Cannelton on Thursday by a conclusive 18-5. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won five matchups by 13 runs or more so far this season.
Gleason Mikesell made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Christian Academy let Natalie McKain and Ella Peach run wild. McKain went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Peach went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those five RBI gave McKain a new career-high. Isabella DeMoss was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Trinity Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Christian Academy, their record is now 6-8-1.
Trinity Lutheran got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Christian Academy by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
