Basketball Recap: Ocoee Skates Past Hagerty with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ocoee had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hagerty Huskies 63-30. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 20 points or more this season.

Ocoee had a senior duo take command as Senaia Asanya shot 67% from the field on her way to 17 points and Dakara Merthie posted 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Asanya. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmine Monroe, who earned 12 points.

The win (which was Ocoee's fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-5. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points over those games. As for Hagerty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-10.

Coming up, Ocoee will take on Timber Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hagerty does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
