Softball Game Preview: Bruce Trojans vs. Ingomar Falcons

Bruce has gone a perfect 3-0 against Ingomar recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Bruce Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Ingomar Falcons at 1:00 p.m. One thing working in Bruce's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.

Bruce proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 12) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over Calhoun City. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since April 12, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Leah Clark, who went 3-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024. Taylor Turner was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI.

Clark wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bruce kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Ingomar brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They were the clear victor by a 25-7 margin over Hickory Flat on Tuesday. The Falcons have beaten the Rebels the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rebels has come to flipping the script.

Bruce is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. Ingomar's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

Bruce came out on top in a nail-biter against Ingomar in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bruce since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
