Upland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 24-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Villa Park Spartans. Villa Park can attribute much of their success to Vince Lagatta, who rushed for 57 yards and one TD, and also threw for 174 yards while completing 83.3% of his passes. Those 174 passing yards gave Lagatta a new career-high.
Upland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Villa Park, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
