Foxcroft Academy is 2-8 against Hermon since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Foxcroft Academy Ponies will head out on the road to take on the Hermon Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Foxcroft Academy has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 27.
Foxcroft Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 22, 2023 on Monday. They suffered a tough 51-25 defeat at the hands of Old Town. While losing is never fun, Foxcroft Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Old Town is ranked fifth).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Allie Smith, who scored five points along with five rebounds. Madyson Kimball was another key contributor, scoring three points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Hermon can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 30-20 win over Presque Isle. The victory was just what Hermon needed coming off of a 74-50 loss in their prior contest.
Foxcroft Academy dropped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Hermon, their win bumped their record up to 2-10.
Foxcroft Academy suffered a grim 48-25 defeat to Hermon in their previous meeting on January 2nd. Can Foxcroft Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
