The Madisonville Mustangs can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 70-63 win over La Grange. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why La Grange lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nathan Scott. Despite the final result, he scored 37 points along with 7 rebounds. Scott scored a full 58.7% of La Grange's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Cooper, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Madisonville's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for La Grange, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Madisonville will take on Hargrave at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hargrave presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Madisonville in Texas (Hargrave is ranked 203rd, while Madisonville is ranked 941st). La Grange is on the road again on Thursday and play against Navasota at 3:30 p.m. on December 7th.
