At the plate, Charlie O'Rear was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Henry O'Rear, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Denver East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.4.
Meanwhile, Eaglecrest fell victim to Cherry Creek and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Bruins, falling 7-0. The loss continues a trend for the Raptors in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost five in a row.
Denver East's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Eaglecrest, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Denver East hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Eaglecrest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
