Whitewater has gone a perfect 8-0 against Delavan-Darien recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Whippets will look to defend their home field against the Comets at 5:00 p.m. Whitewater is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Whitewater barely beat Palmyra-Eagle the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Whippets put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 11-1 win on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Whippets considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Marianna Kubicz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

In other batting news, Whitewater got a massive performance out of Izzy Lavertu, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Lavertu a new career-high. Jennifer Gosh was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Whitewater was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Delavan-Darien was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against South Beloit, falling 27-3. That's two games in a row now that the Comets have lost by exactly 24 runs.
Whitewater is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Delavan-Darien, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.
Everything went Whitewater's way against Delavan-Darien when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Whitewater made off with a 19-1 win. Do the Whippets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
