Damonte Ranch and Bishop Manogue are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. The Damonte Ranch Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Bishop Manogue Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Damonte Ranch has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Bishop Manogue will arrive with six straight wins.
Last Friday, Damonte Ranch took a serious blow against Reed, falling 34-7. Damonte Ranch was down 34-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the defeat, Damonte Ranch had strong showings from Damien Smith, who rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and Marian Mariscal, who gained 100 total yards.
Meanwhile, Bishop Manogue blew past Reno, posting a 37-7 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Bishop Manogue, who have now won six matches by 25 points or more so far this season.
Cody Fleischmann continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 237 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Fleischmann is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played. Bishop Manogue also got help from Dom Marconato who showed off his sure hands for 105 receiving yards.
Bishop Manogue's win bumped their season record to 6-2 while Damonte Ranch's loss dropped theirs to 4-5.
Damonte Ranch suffered a grim 41-21 defeat to Bishop Manogue in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Damonte Ranch, Logan Howren (who threw for 114 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
