The Lane Tech Champions's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They breezed by Payton College Prep on the road to the tune of 60-32. This was payback for Lane Tech, who suffered a 53-45 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Lane Tech got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Melanie Blanco out in front who scored eight points along with seven assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Lucy Mehlis, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Lane Tech's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Payton College Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Lane Tech will be playing at home against Whitney Young at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Whitney Young is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Payton College Prep, they will take on Lincoln Park at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
