Logan is 9-1 against Cimarron since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Longhorns will look to defend their home field against the Rams at 2:00 p.m. Logan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Grady hit Logan with a four-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Longhorns fell just short of the Bronchos by a score of 7-6. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 21, 2025, but that streak is no more.
Mitchell Wall made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aydin Kotara, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Cimarron hadn't done well against Magdalena recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Rams won by a run and slipped past the Steers 15-14. Cimarron's win was all the more impressive since the Steers were averaging only 3.31 runs allowed on the season.
Cimarron got a massive performance out of Orion Ledoux, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Taven Martinez, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI.
Cimarron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Cimarron's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Logan, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Logan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like Cimarron struggles in that department as they've averaged .392. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Logan beat Cimarron 9-5 in their previous matchup last Monday. Will the Longhorns repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
