Peoria extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-8. They came up short against the Estrella Foothills Wolves, falling 16-2. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 15-1 to the Wolves when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Peoria saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Leiby, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Estrella Foothills, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season so far.
On Estrella Foothills' side, Michael Wax spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up ten Ks. Wax has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Estrella Foothills got a massive performance out of Brody Manley, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Manley a new career-high. Joshua Vargas was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Coming up, Peoria will venture away from home to square off against Cactus at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Estrella Foothills, they will welcome Gila Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
