George County scored a stunning upset when it knocked off D'Iberville, 31-28. At the time, the Warriors were ranked 22nd in the state, while the Rebels were 157th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to George County, who took down 22nd ranked D'Iberville, 31-28.
Biloxi's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Blake Johnson threw for 102 and one touchdown and Scott Austin had 61 yards receiving. On the ground Danny Lewis chipped in 238 yards. Jonathon Quarles helped Biloxi's passing attack out by catching two balls for 41 yards.
Ocean Springs's Wes Windham and Ishmel Morrow have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 6A Region 4 in both passing and receiving yards. Windham has thrown for 1646 yards this season, while Morrow has 54 catches for 781 yards. St. Martin's Tyler Polk leads the league in rushing yards with 906.
The Yellowjackets' Polk needs only 94 yards against Buddy Singleton's team next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Gulfport takes on the Indians. As it stands, the Admirals are in second, while Biloxi is in third.
Gulfport extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Greyhounds, 16-8. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
