The Hillsborough Terriers will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Pinellas Park Patriots on February 5th. Hillsborough knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully the Patriots like a good challenge.
Hillsborough put the finishing touches on their 14th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 72-36 win over Durant on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-22.
Deana Epps continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with eight assists and eight steals. She has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last five times she's played. Ellayna Stephens was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, Pinellas Park was not quite the Eagles' equal in the second half on Thursday. Pinellas Park took a 42-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Pinellas Park has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hillsborough is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Pinellas Park, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
