The St. John Fighting Herald lost  17-7 to the Geneva Eagles on Tuesday.
  Mary West and  Caitlyn Carney stepped up to the plate in a big way.  West  scored a  run while going 1-for-3, while  Carney  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2.
St. John's loss was  their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Geneva,  the  win  got them back to even at 1-1.
 Coming up, St. John will be defending their home field for the first time this season  when they go up against Lordstown  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. This will  be the Fighting Herald's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Geneva, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will  take on  South  at 4:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
