Overton is 7-2 against Ore City since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mustangs will square off against the Rebels at 5:30 p.m. Overton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Overton got the win against Waskom by a conclusive 19-6. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Kelsey Vaught was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryleigh Nelson, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Kyuana Brown also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Overton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matchups.
Harleton hit Ore City with a seven-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rebels fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 12-11. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Like Overton, Ore City also got a great game from a two-way player: Madalyn Chambers. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. Chambers was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Brooke Byrd was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Kylieann Humphrey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Overton's record is now 13-10. As for Ore City, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-16-1.
Ore City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Overton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. It's a different story for Ore City, though, as they've only averaged .242. Will they be able to contain Overton's hitters?
Everything went Overton's way against Ore City in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Overton made off with a 13-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
