Meanwhile, while Heritage put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Sequoyah. The Mountaineers blew past the Chiefs 11-0. The Mountaineers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.
Gaven French made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hayden Sanders, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. William (Thomas) Bowers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Heritage has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lenoir City, their victory bumped their record up to 8-19.
