Basketball Recap: Erie First Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Erie First Christian Academy lost against Mercer back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Erie First Christian Academy took a 75-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mercer Mustangs. Erie First Christian Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Erie First Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Avery Collins, who almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds. Collins' evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Simon Gonzalez, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Erie First Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mercer, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Erie First Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Iroquois at 8:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for Mercer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rocky Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Mercer's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
