Basketball Recap: Twentynine Palms' Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Coachella Valley came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Twentynine Palms, but Christopher Grabow wouldn't allow it. The Twentynine Palms Wildcats put the hurt on the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs with a sharp 81-61 win on Thursday thanks in part to Grabow, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Ayden OGilvie, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played.

Despite the loss, Coachella Valley still got an impressive performance from Israel Garcia, who posted 32 points and six steals. Coachella Valley is 9-3 when Garcia posts five or more steals, but 2-3 otherwise. Gabriel Lopez was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Twentynine Palms' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-16. As for Coachella Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Yucca Valley the next time they take the court. Twentynine Palms will host Yucca Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Coachella Valley will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
