If the Immaculate Mustangs were riding high off their 78-26 takedown of the Bunnell Bulldogs last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Immaculate took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Monday. Immaculate was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Immaculate saw an underclassman step up: Kendra Foy scored 13 points along with five steals. Foy hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristina Asmani, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Immaculate's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Masuk, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Immaculate will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pomperaug is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Masuk, they will be playing at home against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Maloney has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 27.
