It's playoff time, and Okanogan had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 36-26 victory over the Freeman Scotties on Saturday. The win was just business as usual for the Bulldogs, who after 13 games remain undefeated this season.

Carter Kuchenbuch was his usual excellent self, rushing for 255 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards. David Huffstetler was another key player, rushing for 154 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Okanogan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 488 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in 26 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Okanogan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brayden Meyer and Tanner Grooms.

Several Scotties players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vance Coyner, who picked up 195 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Coyner showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 65 yards. Another player making a difference was Logan Schultz, who threw for 322 yards and four touchdowns.

Okanogan pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.2 points per game. As for Freeman, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 10-2 record.

Okanogan didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-21 win against Napavine on the 7th. Freeman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
