Baseball Recap: Pleasant Plains Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Pleasant Plains lost to Morton back in April of 2015, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Cardinals narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Potters 10-9. Pleasant Plains' victory was all the more impressive since the Potters were averaging only 2.84 runs allowed on the season.

Trager Shultz was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Grady Grisham was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Pleasant Plains has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season. As for Morton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pleasant Plains will take on Glenwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Morton, they will challenge Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Potters' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
