The Paxton Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 61-35 margin over Laurel Hill. Given Paxton's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Laurel Hill is ranked 505th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Paxton was led to victory by Sawyer Adams and Ryker Stokes. Adams dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Stokes scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Rhodes, who scored six points.
Paxton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Laurel Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paxton will take on Walton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Laurel Hill, they will stay at home for another game and welcome East Hill Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th.
