It was a good run, but the Classical Prep Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 37-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Families Instructing Students HomeSchool. Classical Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Families Instructing Students HomeSchool apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
It was another big night for Melody Lee, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 20 rebounds for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool. Lee has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper Ellison, who scored nine points.
Classical Prep's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Classical Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Brandon Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Brandon Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Gulf Coast HEAT at 5:30 p.m. Gulf Coast HEAT's defense has only allowed 27 points per game this season, so Families Instructing Students HomeSchool's offense will have their work cut out for them.
