On Sunday, the Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls faced the Roman Catholic Cahillite in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Archbishop Ryan came out on top against Roman Catholic by a score of 64-57. The win was familiar territory for Archbishop Ryan who now have five in a row.
It was another big night for Thomas Sorber, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 20 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Darren Williams, who scored 14 points.
Archbishop Ryan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Roman Catholic, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-2.
Archbishop Ryan will head out on the road to square off against St. Joseph's Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph's Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 22 games -- so hopefully Archbishop Ryan likes a good challenge. Roman Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
