After flying high against the Tornillo Coyotes last Thursday, the Alpine Bucks came back down to earth. Alpine took a 41-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crane on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alpine in their matchups with Crane: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Alpine saw an underclassman step up: Daedrick Hardwick picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown. Sean Mendoza made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Alpine's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Crane, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Alpine will head out on the road to face off against Brady at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Brady is ranked 965th, while Alpine is ranked 968th). As for Crane, they will take on San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
