Coral Glades and Stoneman Douglas are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Coral Glades Jaguars will head out to challenge the Stoneman Douglas Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coral Glades knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Stoneman Douglas likes a good challenge.
Coral Glades took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Cooper City, posting an 85-49 win. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Bryan Jean was nothing short of spectacular: he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. What's more, he also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Kyler Theophile was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points along with five assists and five boards.
Coral Glades smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Stoneman Douglas came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-56 victory over the Bucks.
Coral Glades better focus on containing Ayden Mclean and Zack Story as the pair were huge in Stoneman Douglas' win. Mclean went 8 of 17 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Story dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. Story has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Scheidt, who posted eight points.
Coral Glades' win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.9 points per game. As for Stoneman Douglas, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Coral Glades and Stoneman Douglas are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Coral Glades hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 70.5 points per game. However, it's not like Stoneman Douglas struggles in that department as they've been averaging 59.3 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Coral Glades took their win against Stoneman Douglas when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 77-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coral Glades since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
