The Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a hard 63-49 fall against Osborne. While losing is never fun, Kennesaw Mountain can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while the Cardinals are ranked 145th).
Hakeem Weems was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds for Osborne. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weems has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayvion Nurse, who scored eight points along with six assists.
Kennesaw Mountain dropped their record down to 4-17 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Osborne, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.
Kennesaw Mountain will head out on the road to face off against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Walton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. As for Osborne, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Sandy Creek is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
