The Louisburg Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falls Lake Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Monday, Louisburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-37 to Northwest Halifax. Louisburg has not had much luck with Northwest Halifax recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Louisburg's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mollie Currin, who scored 8 points along with 4 steals, and Braelyn Walker who scored 6 points along with 4 steals. Tamiya Mayo was another key contributor, scoring 2 points.
Meanwhile, Falls Lake put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Triangle Math & Science by a score of 47-39. Given Falls Lake's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Triangle Math & Science is ranked 56th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Emerson Thompson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 35 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Falls Lake's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Massengill, who scored 10 points.
North Johnston's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Louisburg's defeat dropped theirs to 0-1.
Louisburg was taken down by Falls Lake 69-21 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Will Louisburg have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
