Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ryland Parker and Samuel Rodriguez Lead Floresville to Victory

There's no place like home for Floresville, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They enjoyed a cozy 51-34 victory over the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers/Jaguars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Floresville was led to victory by Samuel Rodriguez and Ryland Parker. Rodriguez went 7 for 11 on his way to 21 points in addition to five assists and three steals, while Parker posted 14 points in addition to seven steals and six assists. With that strong performance, Parker is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Julien Peeler, who put up five points and five boards.

Floresville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Uvalde, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Floresville and Uvalde will both be playing Carrizo Springs the next time they take the court. Floresville will head out to face Carrizo Springs at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, while Uvalde will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th.
