Make it eight blowout wins for the Ponderosa Mustangs this season. They claimed a resounding 67-29 victory over Evergreen on the road. Given Ponderosa's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Evergreen is ranked 240th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carson Keach continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Connor Miskovic was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Ponderosa pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Evergreen, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ponderosa and Regis Jesuit will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Evergreen, they will be playing at home against Alameda at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Alameda is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
