In what's become a running theme this season, the Pikesville Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 73-45 victory over New Town. The victory was familiar territory for Pikesville who now have four in a row.
Leading Pikesville to victory were Bree Taylor and Mariah Jones-Bey. Taylor scored 16 points along with four steals, while Jones-Bey scored 27 points along with eight assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones-Bey has scored all season. Tykeisha Hill was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
New Town's loss came despite strong showings from Nialah Mingo and Nasia Hart. Mingo scored 15 points, while Hart scored 12 points.
Pikesville pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.3 points. As for New Town, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-4.
Pikesville is on the road again on Friday and plays Hereford at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hereford will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something Pikesville surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Town, they will head out on the road to square off against Parkville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. New Town is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season.
