Jack Inman looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Steven Fox, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Pinellas Park hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian got the win against Northside Christian on Thursday by a conclusive 9-3. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.
Cameron Uzzillia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.
In other pitching news, Caden Schlotterbeck looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits.
Back at the plate, Gabriel Campos was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Brett Garcy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Pinellas Park pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Calvary Christian, their record is now 8-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pinellas Park has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Calvary Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Pinellas Park suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Calvary Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Pinellas Park avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
