Edon hasn't had much luck against Hilltop recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bombers are taking a road trip to square off against the Cadets at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Edon will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs last Thursday, then bounced right back against Gorham Fayette on Friday. The Bombers never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bombers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Makayla Anspaugh was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, Edon got a massive performance out of Allyson Derck, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Derck a new career-high. Kyla Rummel also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Edon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Hilltop came tearing into last Thursday's match with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Panthers as they made off with a 20-0 victory.
Like Edon, Hilltop also got a great game from a two-way player: Giada Rising. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Rising has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Allie Thompson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Kelsy Connolly was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Hilltop's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Edon, their record is now 8-14.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Edon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. However, it's not like Hilltop struggles in that department as they've averaged .398. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Edon suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Hilltop in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Bombers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
