Wabash got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brookelyn Buzzard out in front who posted 21 points along with six boards and six steals. The contest was Buzzard's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Daughtry, who put up ten points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oak Hill). They really took it to Eastern for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-22 victory. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Oak Hill's win came from a few key players Wabash will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brianna Dailey, who went 10 of 11 on her way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave her a new career-high. Landri Hardman was another key player, putting up seven points along with ten assists and six steals.
Oak Hill was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Oak Hill's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Wabash, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Wabash has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Oak Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Wabash came up short against Oak Hill in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 40-29. Can Wabash avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
