The Suncoast Chargers will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Boynton Beach Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on February 7th. Suncoast has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Suncoast had no problem doing just that on Monday. They breezed by the Bulldogs on the road to the tune of 65-24. Suncoast pushed the score to 52-22 by the end of the third, a deficit Dr. Joaquin Garcia had little chance of recovering from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Suncoast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nekeria Sutton, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sutton has scored all season. Philleah Bright was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Boynton Beach stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 49-29 margin over Leonard. Given Boynton Beach's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Leonard is ranked 506th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Suncoast has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Boynton Beach, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-4.
Everything came up roses for Suncoast against Boynton Beach in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 61-25 win. Does Suncoast have another victory up their sleeve, or will Boynton Beach turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
