Franklin County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Jennings County. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since April 15th.
Jillian Harris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on ten hits.

Charlestown also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Hannah Burns gave up three earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. Burns has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Katie Pickerell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Aiden Stewart was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Franklin County and bumps their season record up to 13-11. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Charlestown, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Franklin County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .392.
