Rancho was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Green Valley Gators. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Brady Paulson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Dylan Layman also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Rancho's record now sits at 5-12. As for Green Valley, their record is now 10-7.

Looking ahead, Rancho will take on Boulder City at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Green Valley, they will face off against Westview at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Westview's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Green Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
