The Carver Challengers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Catalyst-Maria on Wednesday as Carver made off with a 48-28 win. The victory was just business as usual for Carver, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Carver got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was JaNiyah Statham out in front who scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. Astarte Washington was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Carver pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Catalyst-Maria, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carver will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hancock at 5:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. After both having extra time off, Catalyst-Maria and Little Village will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Little Village's defense has only allowed 21.6 points per game this season, so Catalyst-Maria's offense will have their work cut out for Catalyst-Maria.
