The Eastside Rams will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Buchholz Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. Eastside is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Eastside came up short against Newberry and fell 56-44. While losing is never fun, Eastside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 406th, while Newberry is ranked 93rd).
Despite the defeat, Eastside had strong showings from Kelvin Baker, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Quashawn Brittingham, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Davion Pugh, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Buchholz pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbia.
Eastside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Buchholz, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
