Freedom hasn't had much luck against Parkland recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Patriots will challenge the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Freedom is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Pocono Mountain West with a sharp 3-0 win. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Freedom took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-15, 25-14.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Parkland, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Pocono Mountain East on Thursday.
Parkland found their leader in sophomore Chloe Coonradt, who had 21 digs and two aces. Coonradt is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played.
Freedom's win bumped their record up to 23-8-2. As for Parkland, their victory bumped their record up to 20-9-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Freedom has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Parkland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Freedom might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Parkland in their previous matchup back in October of 2023. Thankfully for the Patriots, Izzy Fekula (who had 14 digs and four aces) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
