Softball Game Preview: South Webster Jeeps vs. Green Bobcats

South Webster has gone a perfect 5-0 against Green recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Jeeps will face off against the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. South Webster will be strutting in after a win while Green will be coming in after a loss.

South Webster took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over Minford. The Jeeps haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

South Webster got a massive performance out of Kerija Sauliete, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave Sauliete a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaylee House, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

South Webster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Eastern hit Green with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bobcats fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-7. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Emma Brown was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliya Bradley, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Green's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for South Webster, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

South Webster took their victory against Green in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 22-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jeeps since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
