Softball Recap: Elsinore Has No Trouble Against Chaparral

Elsinore barely beat Chaparral the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Elsinore was the clear victor by an 18-2 margin over Chaparral on Saturday. The contest marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season so far.

Breann Lipold was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That one hit allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton LaRouche, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. Haylie Box was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.

Elsinore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .410. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Elsinore back to even at 3-3. As for Chaparral, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Elsinore wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-2 win against Katella on the 22nd. As for Chaparral, they will head out to square off against Vista Murrieta at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Vista Murrieta's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Chaparral's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
