The Harding Skippers suffered their biggest loss since December 11, 2023 on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 63-32 loss at the hands of St. John. Harding was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. John apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Madisen Mcfadden and Madison Hunt certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Mcfadden scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, while Hunt scored four points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Hunt has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
St. John was led to victory by alyssa cevera and Mickey Zheng. cevera dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Zheng scored 14 points along with eight assists and six steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which cevera has scored at least a third of St. John's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Jordan, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Harding's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for St. John, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Harding on the road again on Thursday and play against Mathews at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th. Mathews is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. St. John will take on Lordstown at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Lordstown comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
