Basketball Recap: Cisne Triumphs

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cisne and Sandoval meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Runnin' Lions walked away with a 60-48 win over the Blackhawks. This was payback for the Runnin' Lions, who suffered a 34-30 loss the last time these two teams met.

Several Blackhawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaxon Dykstra, who went 5-for-7 on his way to 10 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Josh Gordon was another key player, putting up 14 points along with five boards and three blocks.

Cisne's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-10. As for Sandoval, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Cisne has already played their next game, a 68-63 defeat against Farina South Central on the 9th. As for Sandoval, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-41 win against Zeigler-Royalton on the 12th.
