Brillion has gone a perfect 10-0 against Sheboygan Falls recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lions will head out to face off against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. Brillion is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Brillion's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Kiel 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won nine matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Amaya Brooks was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kara Hedrich was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Carter Miller, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Brillion was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kiel only posted a batting average of .091.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Sheboygan Falls' offense. They fell just short of Roncalli by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Jets: they've now lost six in a row.
Brillion's record is now 16-3. As for Sheboygan Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
Brillion's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Lions have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Sheboygan Falls, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Brillion continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Brillion's way against Sheboygan Falls when the teams last played back in April, as Brillion made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
