The John Carroll Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the DeMatha Stags at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. John Carroll is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
DeMatha's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: John Carroll hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Patriots never let McDonogh get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Monday.

John Carroll got a great performance from Pierce Quinn as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Quinn a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Will Rhine, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Nic Stockson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask DeMatha). Everything went their way against Archbishop Carroll on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-0 victory. With that win, the Stags brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Grayson Candy looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Shane Ladia was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Brooks Franklin was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
DeMatha always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .719. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
John Carroll pushed their record up to 14-5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for DeMatha, their record now sits at 16-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. John Carroll hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like DeMatha struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
