Mile High Academy is still winless after their contest against St. John Paul the Great on Monday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. John Paul the Great Mountaineers. One positive for the Mustangs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rogan Annis, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Koloay, who posted five points and five rebounds.
Mile High Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for St. John Paul the Great, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mile High Academy will square off against Denver Jewish Day at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. John Paul the Great, they will challenge Rocky Mountain Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st.
