If the Browne Bruins were riding high  off their  63-40 takedown of the San Luis Sidewinders last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Browne ended up on the wrong side of a  tough 65-45 walloping at the hands of Carl Hayden Community on Friday. The  defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Browne in their matchups with Carl Hayden Community: they've now lost six in a row.
 When it comes to explaining why Browne lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Desmyn Beavers-smith. Despite the final result, he  scored 20 points along with six  rebounds and three  steals. Another player making a difference was  Adam Chaffin, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on nine points and ten  blocks.
  Dru Carter was  his usual excellent self,  scoring 14 points along with six  steals for Carl Hayden Community. Carter has been hot recently, having posted two or more  steals the last three times he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Erick Carrsco, who  scored ten points along with four  steals.
 Browne has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Carl Hayden Community, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-8.
 Browne will head out on the road to  face off against  Maryvale at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. One thing working in Maryvale's favor is that they have posted big  point totals  in their last six matchups. As for Carl Hayden Community, they and North will face off  at 7:00  p.m.  on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Carl Hayden Community is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 67.2  points per game this season.
