The Morenci Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Sand Creek Aggies at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Morenci is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Aggies in Michigan (the Bulldogs are ranked 145th, while the Aggies are ranked 637th).
After a string of four wins, Morenci's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of Blissfield by a score of 47-45.
Meanwhile, Sand Creek's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. The match between them and Onsted wasn't particularly close, with Sand Creek falling 42-27. Sand Creek has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Morenci's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Sand Creek, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11.
Everything went Morenci's way against the Aggies in their previous meeting back in January as the Bulldogs made off with a 36-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morenci since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
